INDUSTRIALISASI DAN PERUBAHAN IKLIM: DAMPAKNYA TERHADAP PRODUKTIVITAS TENAGA KERJA

Industrialisasi merupakan pendorong utama pertumbuhan ekonomi dan transformasi struktural suatu negara. Namun di sisi lain turut berkontribusi signifikan terhadap degradasi lingkungan dan percepatan perubahan iklim. Peningkatan aktivitas industri memicu emisi gas rumah kaca, eksploitasi sumber daya alam, serta perubahan tata guna lahan yang berdampak pada ketidakseimbangan ekosistem. Perubahan iklim yang ditandai dengan peningkatan suhu global, naiknya permukaan air laut, dan meningkatnya frekuensi bencana alam kemudian mempengaruhi pola produktivitas tenaga kerja. Kondisi ini dapat menurunkan Tingkat produktivitas tenaga kerja akibat adanya stress panas yang berkepanjangan. Peneilitian ini menggunakan objek penelitian negara Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, dan Thailand dengan menggunakan panel Fully Modified-OLS (FMOLS) yang bertujuan untuk melihat kondisi jangka Panjang yang ditimbulkan dengan serries antara 1990-2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terhadap hubungan yang positif dan signifikan pada industrialisasi terhadap produktivitas tenaga kerja. Sementara itu, perubahan iklim memiliki hubungan yang positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap produktivitas tenaga kerja yang berarti bahwa semakin tinggi suhu udara tidak selamnaya dapat menurunkan produktivitas tenaga kerja dalam jangka panjang. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan kebijakan pembangunan yang terintegrasi antara industrialisasi rendah karbon, mitigasi dan adaptasi perubahan iklim, serta produktivitas tenaga kerja yang berkelanjutan guna mewujudkan pertumbuhan ekonomi yang inklusif, tangguh, dan ramah lingkungan.
