This study aims to determine the level of psychological stress, sleep quality, and the relationship between the two variables among West Java Triathlon athletes. A descriptive-correlational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted, involving a total sampling of 45 West Java Triathlon athletes in September 2026. Primary data were collected using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaires, then analyzed using Pearson and Spearman correlation tests. The majority of the athletes experienced moderate psychological stress (35 athletes; 77.8%) and had poor sleep quality (27 athletes; 60%). The Pearson test showed a significant positive relationship with moderate strength between psychological stress and PSQI scores (r = 0.405; p = 0.006), which was supported by the Spearman correlation (ρ = 0.399; p = 0.007). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.164) indicated that psychological stress contributed 16.4% to the variation in sleep quality. In conclusion, there is a significant linear relationship between psychological stress and decreased sleep quality among West Java Triathlon athletes; higher perceived stress is associated with poorer sleep quality.
