Analisis Hubungan Stress Akademik dengan Gejala Depresi dan Ide Bunuh Diri pada Mahasiswa

This study aims to analyze the relationship between academic stress and symptoms of depression and suicidal ideation in college students. The method used is quantitative descriptive with a cross-sectional design. The results of the study involving respondents with an average age of 21 years, the youngest age 19 years, and the oldest 24 years showed that most respondents experienced low levels of academic stress (59.7%), while 39.6% were at a moderate level, and only 0.7% experienced relatively high academic stress. In terms of depression, respondents with mild depression were 24.5%, moderate depression 23.7%, severe depression 7.9%, and very severe depression 3.6%. Regarding suicidal ideation, the majority of respondents (84.9%) had low levels of suicidal ideation, and 15.1% were at a moderate level. The results of the analysis showed a significant relationship between academic stress and depression, with a p-value of 0.001. There was no relationship between academic stress and suicidal ideation, with a p-value of 0.231. This study concludes that there is a significant relationship between academic stress and depression, but no significant relationship was found between academic stress and suicidal ideation.
