This study aims to analyze the transformation of the function of the Sam Poo Kong Temple in Semarang as a religious site, cultural heritage, and multipurpose public space. The study used a qualitative approach with observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study techniques. The results show that the Sam Poo Kong Temple has a dual function, namely as a place of worship for followers of Tridharma, a symbol of respect for Admiral Cheng Ho, a historical tourism destination, a center for cultural activities, and a means of education for Chinese-Javanese acculturation. The modernization of the area is demonstrated through the use of digital technology, the development of typography inspired by temple ornaments, and the holding of international-scale cultural festivals and concerts. This transformation has had a positive impact in the form of increased tourist visits, strengthening cultural identity, and the growth of the creative economy. However, the modernization process also presents challenges in the form of cultural commodification, shifts in sacred values, and the risk of damage to historic buildings. The conclusion of the study emphasizes the need for sustainable management that is able to balance the conservation of religious and historical values with the development of modern tourism so that the Sam Poo Kong Temple remains an icon of cultural acculturation and tolerance in Indonesia.
