Pengaruh Model Discovery Learning Berbantuan Media Lirik Lagu terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Puisi Peserta Didik

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model, supported by song lyrics as a medium, on the poetry-writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Ungaran. The study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consists of 64 students, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through poetry-writing tests administered before and after the intervention, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite testing, t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results show that the mean score for the experimental group increased from 67.72 to 82.50, while the mean score for the control group increased from 72.38 to 81.41. The N-Gain score for the experimental group was 48.27%, compared to 28.35% for the control group. Improvements were also observed in the quality of the poems across several aspects: theme, diction, rhyme, figurative language, meaning, and typography. In conclusion, the application of the Discovery Learning model, supported by song lyrics, can effectively contribute to the improvement of poetry-writing skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Ungaran.
