Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan terhadap Tingkat Pengetahuan Remaja Putri tentang Penyakit Menular Seksual

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of health education on the level of knowledge of adolescent girls regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) at SMAN 3 Sukabumi City. A quantitative approach with a pretest–posttest control group design was used. A total of 60 adolescent girls were selected using stratified random sampling and divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received health education, while the control group received no treatment. Knowledge was measured using a structured questionnaire, and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The findings showed a significant increase in the intervention group’s knowledge score, from an average of 16.37 before the intervention to 25.27 after receiving health education, with a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Meanwhile, the control group showed only a slight increase, from 14.60 to 15.83. The study concludes that health education has a significant effect on improving adolescents’ knowledge about STDs, emphasizing the need for continuous and structured educational programs in schools.
