This study aims to describe the forms of badminton game modifications for deaf students in two Special Needs Schools (SLB) in Makassar. The research focuses on five dimensions: lesson planning and needs analysis, communication and cueing, game rules and structure, environment, equipment, and court, as well as instructional and assessment differentiation. The study subjects were 12 physical education teachers who teach deaf students. The results indicate that all modification dimensions fall into the moderate category, with an overall mean of 2.77, suggesting that modifications are frequently implemented but not yet optimal. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of a consistent visual communication system, equipment adaptation, and individualized instructional strategies to increase the participation and safety of deaf students in badminton learning. In conclusion, modifications to the badminton game for deaf students in Makassar have been implemented in the moderate category across all indicators.
Keywords: game modification, badminton, deaf students, adaptive physical education.
