This study aims to determine the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving students’ learning outcomes in volleyball learning activities among seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 01 Malangbong. This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in volleyball learning activities, particularly in mastering basic movement skills of underhand passing and overhead passing. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method consisting of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 34 students of class VII-G at SMP Negeri 01 Malangbong. The research instruments consisted of observation sheets and learning outcome tests of volleyball skills. The research was conducted in two cycles through several learning actions using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. The results showed that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model provided positive changes in the volleyball learning process. Students showed increased involvement in learning activities, improved teamwork abilities, and development of basic movement skills in underhand passing and overhead passing. The improvement in learning outcomes occurred after learning improvements were implemented in Cycle II, with 7 students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), representing 20.59%. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model can support the improvement of the learning process and provide improvements in learning outcomes for some students in volleyball learning activities. However, the improvement had not yet reached classical mastery; therefore, more intensive practice and longer learning time are required.
