Abstract

This study aims to identify elements of plane geometry and geometric transformations within the motifs of Ulos Parompa Sadun, and to visualize them using the GeoGebra application as an interactive learning medium. A descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews with ulos weavers, and visual documentation. The findings reveal that the Ulos Parompa Sadun motif contains various plane figures such as triangles, squares, rhombuses, and trapezoids, and illustrates geometric transformations including translation, rotation, reflection, and dilation. Visualization through GeoGebra facilitates a more concrete and engaging understanding of these mathematical concepts. These results suggest that integrating local cultural heritage with digital technology can enrich contextual mathematics learning and foster students’ appreciation of indigenous cultural values. Conclusion, that the geometric elements in the Ulos Parompa Sadun motif can be utilized to support contextual mathematics learning based on local culture.
