Analisis Kemampuan Literasi Numerasi Siswa SMP pada Materi Aritmatika Sosial Ditinjau dari Gender

This study aims to analyze the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students in social arithmetic material reviewed from a gender aspect. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive exploratory study type. The subjects in this study were grade VII students of Muhammadiyah 01 Junior High School Medan. The results of the study indicate that there are differences in the ability tendencies between male and female students. Male students tend to excel in speed of thinking, initial mathematization, and the use of mathematical symbols. It can be concluded that the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students in social arithmetic material show variations influenced by gender. Thus, a learning approach that considers gender differences can help develop students' numeracy literacy potential more optimally.
