Media Sosial dan Perubahan pada Anak Remaja: Implikasi terhadap Etika Berbahasa dan Karakter

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh media sosial TikTok dan Facebook terhadap kemunduran etika berbahasa dan perubahan karakter pada anak remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatif untuk mengumpulkan data dari sejumlah responden siswa yang aktif menggunakan media sosial TikTok dan Facebook. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara tematis untuk mengidentifikasi pola perilaku dan perubahan karakter yang terjadi pada anak remaja seiring dengan penggunaan media sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial TikTok dan Facebook memiliki dampak yang signifikan pada etika berbahasa dan karakter anak remaja. Ditemukan bahwa beberapa responden cenderung menggunakan bahasa yang kurang sopan atau informal di platform media sosial, yang menunjukkan kemunduran dalam etika berbahasa. Selain itu, penggunaan media sosial juga mempengaruhi perubahan karakter dengan adanya peningkatan terhadap perilaku yang mengikuti trend atau opini publik tanpa pertimbangan yang matang. Simpulannya adalah penggunaan media sosial TikTok dan Facebook berdampak negatif pada etika berbahasa dan karakter anak remaja, ditandai dengan perilaku dan bahasa kurang sopan.
