Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Berbasis Tutor Sebaya terhadap Hasil Belajar Matematika Ditinjau dari Motivasi Belajar Siswa

This study aims to test the impact of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by peer tutors on student learning outcomes in terms of their level of learning motivation. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. Data were collected through evaluation of test results to measure learning achievement and assessment instruments for student learning motivation. The sampling method used was cluster random sampling. The study involved grade XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah Pondok Pesantren Imam Syuhodo in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample consisted of two classes: XI F1A3 as the experimental group and XI F1S2 as the control group. The analytical technique used in assessing the research data was the two-way ANOVA test of unequal cells, further confirming the normality and homogeneity of the data. The findings of the study revealed 1) there was a statistically significant difference in mathematics learning outcomes when comparing students using the peer tutor-assisted Problem Based Learning model with those who did not, 2) there was a marked difference in mathematics learning outcomes as assessed through students' motivation to learn, and 3) no interaction effect was observed between the learning model used and students' motivation levels, meaning the influence of the learning model on students' performance remained independent of their motivation to engage with the material. The conclusion of this study is that the peer tutor-assisted PBL model is effective in improving students' learning outcomes, regardless of their level of motivation to learn.
