Serok Huruf (Seruf) sebagai Media Inovatif untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mengenal Huruf Anak Usia 4-5 Tahun

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of "Seruf" media in optimizing letter identification skills in 20 students aged 4-5 years at PGRI Sambirampak Kidul Kindergarten, Probolinggo. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which adopts the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, which systematically includes the planning phase, action implementation, in-depth observation, and critical reflection in each cycle. By setting the classical success indicator at 75%, initial data in the pre-cycle stage showed a low level of achievement, namely only 25%. Entering the first cycle, learning outcomes increased to 60% after the researcher integrated concentration exercises and focus stimulation as supporting main activities. Based on the results of reflection on obstacles in the initial stage, improvements were made in the second cycle which ultimately succeeded in boosting the percentage of children's completion to reach 80%. The conclusion is that learning innovation through "Seruf" media is a valid and effective solution in accelerating basic literacy and letter symbol recognition for early childhood.
