Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of principal resilience on science learning innovation at SMAN Purwodadi. Principal resilience refers to the ability to cope with pressure, adapt to change, manage challenges, and remain productive in leading a school. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research population consisted of 55 teachers at SMAN Purwodadi, including three science teachers, and a saturated sampling technique was applied. The data were collected using principal resilience and science learning innovation questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The results showed that principal resilience had a positive and significant effect on science learning innovation, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.58 and a significance value of 0.001 (< 0.05). These findings indicate that principal resilience explained 58% of the variation in science learning innovation, while the remaining 42% was influenced by other factors outside this study. Therefore, principals with high resilience tend to be more capable of creating a work environment that supports creativity, adaptation, and learning innovation. This study recommends developing principal resilience enhancement programs as a strategy to improve the quality and innovation of science learning.
